Managing Your Suppliers

The Suppliers page shows all suppliers connected to your Wren account, along with their connection type, GPO status, and product count. Click Connect Suppliers to add a new one.

The Suppliers page shows every supplier connected to your Wren account, how they're connected, and how many products are available in your Catalog.

How to view your suppliers

  1. Go to Shop > Suppliers

  2. Each supplier card shows:

    • GPO status — whether your GPO is connected with that supplier

    • Products in Catalog — how many previously purchased products are available

    • Available actions (Punchout and/or Catalog)

Understanding supplier connection types

Not all suppliers connect to Wren the same way. The buttons shown on each supplier card depend on how that supplier is connected:

  • API Connected — Wren has a direct, automatic connection with the supplier's system, so their product data stays live and up to date. Only a Catalog button appears, since products sync directly.

  • EDI/cXML Connected (Punchout) — A technical standard that lets you shop directly on the supplier's own website, then send that order back into Wren. Both Catalog (for items you've bought before) and Punchout (to shop their full site) buttons appear.

  • External Supplier — There's no direct system connection with this supplier. Instead, your purchase order is sent to their sales rep by email or text message.

How to add a new supplier

Frequently asked questions

Why do some suppliers show a Punchout button and others don't?
It depends on how Wren is connected to that supplier. Suppliers connected via Punchout (EDI/cXML) let you shop their full website, so they show a Punchout button. Suppliers with a direct API connection have live product data already in Wren, so only Catalog appears. Suppliers with no system connection are External Suppliers, where orders go out by email or text.

What does "GPO" mean on a supplier card?
It shows whether your Group Purchasing Organization is connected with that supplier, which affects your contracted pricing.

What does "Products in Catalog" mean?
It shows how many previously purchased products from that supplier are available in your Wren Catalog for quick reordering.

How do I add a new supplier?
Click Connect Suppliers on the Suppliers page and follow the prompts.
